Life Skills Foundation

Yoga Off East founder Kathryn Smith first learned about LIFE Skills Foundation through a Duke alumni group and was introduced to Staff Member Laura Wooten who would eventually become a yoga teacher at YOE! We stand behind the important work of LIFE Skills Foundation to provide wrap-around support for youth who have aged out of foster care.

We have a studio fundraising goal of $10,000 for the LIFE Skills Foundation! This money may be used towards housing, counseling sessions, independent living classes, groceries, and more that will directly benefit the young people they serve. You can help us reach our goal by attending a donation-based class through the Studio or through a direct donation on their website. When asked how did you hear about LIFE Skills Foundation, please select "partner organization" and write in Yoga Off East so your donation counts towards our Studio goal.

Yoga for a Cause Movement

Yoga for a Cause Movement was born during the 2020 COVID-19 quarantine as a way to create a global community that loves yoga and elevates lives. Its primary mission is to raise awareness and money to organizations that support socially affected communities, creating a positive impact in the world. We offer livestream and in-person donation-based yoga classes, and we send 100% of the proceeds to an organization that is inspiring real change.

Skill In Action

Skill In Action

We raise awareness to the important work of Michelle C Johnson. Michelle (she/her) is a social justice warrior, author, dismantling racism trainer, empath, yoga teacher and practitioner, and an intuitive healer. With over 20 years of experience leading dismantling racism work and working with clients as a licensed clinical social worker, she has a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the mind, body, spirit, and heart. Her awareness of the world through her own experience as a black woman allows her to know, first-hand, how privilege and power operate.

Learn more about Michelle, her book Skill In Action, and her work on her website. Donate, support, raise awareness.
